playback of samples under the cursor

It looks like I can't find the button to turn off the playback of samples under the cursor when I edit the tracks. Is it possible?

Yes, it sounds like you are looking for the "Play notes under the cursor when moving up or down" option under Edit -> Preferences -> Editor.

This option turns off anything but sample player. This is especially inconvenient with loop waves (I need to press the space bar two or three times to stop)

You don't want to hear the notes you are adding?

It's very easy to add an option for this. Just let me know.

In any other tracker I used to edit blocks in silence (sound only when I press the button), and then click play to listen the result completely. I would understand if there was no such option at all. But it is, and does not mute samples.
Sorry if my english is not accurate enough.

Okay, it's a quick fix. The option I suggested, ""Play notes under the cursor when moving up or down", is only to enable/disable sample playback when the cursor moves up or down, it doesn't mute sound for the current instrument.

Hmmm I do not know what happened, but now everything worked as it should. The current instrument is also silent ... I can’t guess what the problem was. Some time ago I was sure the audio files were playing and the rest of the instruments were silent. Feeling dumb

Okay, good.
I'm not sure if everything is okay though. If there is no sound when you add notes for the current instrument, something is wrong, because that is not supposed to happen unless the instrument is muted or not connected to the output.

I think I know what is happening.
Are you adding notes with a MIDI keyboard? If you change the current instrument to one of the Aux buses, for instance, you won't hear anything. (This is a bug in the program, editing with the computer keyboard shouldn't behave differently)
