Tips on polyphony

How do ppl generally deal with chords?
I seldom want to transpose a whole chord, most of the time I just want to flip one note or something, punching in the new note works but are cumbersome to find the right place if the chord is spread over many octaves, for me I've found the simplest solution is to just make 4 tracks with the same instrument.
It would be good if transpose worked the same as editing the velocity column of notes in a chord, ie putting cursor over individual notes velocity graph and transposing would transpose that note, would leave room for whole chord transposition as well as single note.

Another thing, when working on a drum track and shift-adding a note I would like that note to not be cut of by next note, I haven't figured out how to extend a note?
Is there a setting to automatically let shift-added notes ring out?

Maybe we should add functions to split/merge polyphonic tracks, so that polyphonic tracks can temporarily be split into several monophonic tracks while editing. Polyphonic tracks probably makes most sense if you use the pianoroll though, although they existed 15 years before Radium got a pianoroll.

Pretty sure there isn't a way to do that. I guess this problem would also be solved by having a quick way to convert between a polyphonic track and several monophonic tracks.
