recording/mixing/channel
Is there a better tutorial on how to record/mix? I can record, but it doesn't sound too great and only comes from one channel.
Re: recording/mixing/channel
Unfortunately there aren't many tutorials.
Sound quality
=========
The sound quality shouldn't be different from what you get in other DAWS. If the problem is pops and glitches, a red number in the lower right corner of the of the main window should be visible if the computer isn't able to keep up. If this is the case, it might be a bug in Radium, but most likely the buffer size is too small. If you don't see a red number, it might be something with the sound card driver or the sound card, etc.. Anyhow, you should try to change driver settings under Edit -> Soundcard preferences. Increasing the audio buffer size for instance.
Only one input channel
===============
I'm assuming you are recording in the sequencer. If you are recording in the sample player instrument, let me know (it should work too, but I don't remember the details now).
Here's a short tutorial to record a stereo track from the soundcard. I guess you know this already, but I'll write it up quickly, and maybe add it to the manual later:
1. Start Radium
2. Show the sequencer if necessary (Press F8).
3. Press the "+A" button to add a new audio seqtrack. A new seqtrack called "Seqtrack 1" should be visible now.,
4. Right-click the "R" button in "Seqtrack 1" to open the recording configuration window.
5. Under "Source": Ensure "System input" is selected.
6. Under "Source channel -> Soundfile channel": Ensure the "0->0" and "1->1" checkboxes are enabled, and no other checkboxes.
7. Close the recording configuration window.
8. Save song as "test.rad" to create a sesssion. (A session is needed to be able to save sound files)
9. Left-click the "R" button.
10. Select Play -> Song from start (or press Right Alt + Space) to start recording.
11. Press space to stop recording
If you still only get one sound channel, maybe your soundcard only has one input channel? You can check that under Edit -> Soundcard preferences.
