Navigate the Pianoroll using the Keyboard?
Navigate the Pianoroll using the Keyboard?
I would love if it was possible to activate navigating the pianoroll using the keyboard and being able to hit a key to enter a note that's quantized to the current zoom setting, so it basically would function just like it does now with the mouse arrow, but imagining moving the mouse error from cell to cell using the direction keys.
Re: Navigate the Pianoroll using the Keyboard?
Just to clarify, you mean like this?
1. Move mouse pointer above a note in the piano roll.
2. Press left mouse button
3. Press arrow up on the keyboard.
4. The note moves one tracker line up.
5. Press arrow left on the keyboard.
6. The note is transposed 1/2 note down.

Re: Navigate the Pianoroll using the Keyboard?
no, sorry. what I mean is that it would be great to be able navigate the piano roll with the keyboard.
so instead of having to hit the right key on your keyboard to enter the note, you would traverse the pianoroll like you can with the mouse curse and enter notes with a action key that equals a mouse click.
Right now you can go up and down with the keyboard, but when you hit the right arrow key, you can not actually go into the piano roll to select notes / piano keys, it takes you right to "max tempo" (if it's the first track) and skips the piano roll.
1. click left on the keyboard while you are in the Note Display line.
2. now the upper most note on the displayed piano roll is selected with a red border around it and displays the note name, just like if you would hover over it with the mouse. click the left arrow again
3. now the note beneath the previous note is selected with a red border around.
4. hit designated action key
5. a note is entered with a set length, that can be changed as a default (1/4th 1/16th etc)

+1 on this. Would be great to be able to move notes in the pianoroll with the direction keys on the keyboard. Like the steps you described above Kjetil. (Both quantized to grid or being able to chose not quantized to grid). And the operation only happens on selected note/notes so you can move individual notes or whole chords.
