I am trying to send midi messages to certain instruments using common music by specifying midi channel. I was just curious if there was a way to do this. I want to use radium as my rack of instruments and effects. Is there an option to enable midi input to an instrument only with a certain midi channel?
Hi, there isn't a built-in option to only receive messages with a specified channel number, but you can use one of the pizmidi vst plugins to do this, for instance. It's a little bit inconvenient, but it should work. https://code.google.com/archive/p/pizmidi/
So, I tried doing this with a pd patch. Is there a way to specify that only one instrument receives midi without everything it is connected to downstream? I am a little confused with how midi is received in radium.
Are you asking if there's a way to prevent MIDI input to be forwarded to all event-connected sound objects? In case, yes, that's the "T" button right next to the name of the object in the instrument widget.
