Guidance on setting up MPE
Heyo, i'm a newer user coming from Renoise. I have a roli block kit that i would like to use as I'm learning Radium, but I'm not too certain how to map the MIDI Polyphonic Expression. I'm also new to MPE so I'm not too familiar with mapping it in any other daw either, sadly. Any help would be appreciated.
Re: Guidance on setting up MPE
Hello, do you want to receive polyphonic aftertouch messages from the Roli block kit into Radium, or do you want to send polyphonic aftertouch messages to the Roli block kit?
For the former, do you want to map aftertouch to effect sliders, or do just want to set aftertouch values on notes in the editor?

These are excellent questions! I think I'm interested in the former, and to be honest I haven't fully decided on which aftertouch implementation i'm interested in. I'm in an exploratory stage, so to speak. My gut feeling is that mapping to effect sliders may be more beneficial when using VSTs and setting values to notes in the editor may be more beneficial when working with samples. If it's not too much trouble, I'd appreciate learning how to map aftertouch to effect sliders and how to set aftertouch values on notes in the editor. That way I could explore the possibilities of both implementations.

Hi,
I don't have a MIDI keyboard with polyphonic aftertouch right now, but from reading the source code, it doesn't seem like MIDI-learning on an effect slider works for polyphonic aftertouch. MIDI learning channel pressure should work though.
To read polyphonic aftertouch on individual notes, this is done automatically by default when you record MIDI and the red "R" button in the lower left corner of the editor is enabled. If you want to record polyphonic aftertouch values when adding notes in non-realtime mode (and editing is enabled), go to edit -> preferences -> MIDI and enable the "Always use velocity from MIDI input ..." option.
